A Coolant Flush Is an Important Part of Preventive Maintenance
By Bill DeBoer on Nov 27, 2015 5:00:00 AM
You may be under the impression occasionally adding antifreeze and water to your radiator to replace evaporated fluid is all the maintenance your car’s cooling system needs. If so, you’re wrong. Like all vehicle components, the cooling system needs preventive maintenance. This important service is called a coolant flush. Your car’s cooling system is what protects it from temperature extremes so it will run as reliably in subzero temperatures and in triple-digit temperatures as it does on a balmy spring day. By Bill DeBoer on Oct 4, 2015 4:00:00 AM
A decade or so ago, shopping for motor oil was fairly straightforward because few options were available. Essentially, all you needed to know was what viscosity your car required (5W-30, for instance) and you were all set. Since then, cars have changed and motor oil has changed with them. Before you sign on the dotted line, though, be aware of the following pros and cons of extended warranties.
