My father owned a bakery in the Netherlands. Almond is always a winning ingredient with the Dutch, and his almond bars were no exception as one of his customers' (and his family’s) favorites.
After he immigrated to America in 1949, we had a part-time bakery in our home. Soon the almond bar recipe became a hit in the U.S., as well. His almond bar legacy continues as we make and enjoy their buttery, warm goodness for special events and family gatherings to this day.

By Bill DeBoer on Oct 20, 2014 8:00:00 AM
Contrary to popular belief, an oil change is not something just anyone can do. At least, it’s not something just anyone can do well. By Bill DeBoer on Oct 3, 2014 5:18:00 PM
It almost always happens at the worst time. You’ve got somewhere to be at a certain time and your car won’t start. Perhaps it’s the middle of winter, dark outside and the last thing you want to do is wait hours for a tow truck because you didn’t know what the normal life of a car battery is so yours has died and won’t take a charge.

Testing Vehicle Fluids Is More Accurate Than a Maintenance Schedule
By Bill DeBoer on Sep 8, 2014 3:18:00 PM
Do you really have to follow the recommendations for fluid changes found in your owner’s manual? If you talk to a mechanic, he may give you a different schedule. Your car relies on these fluids to operate efficiently, but there’s often little reason to change them based on the manufacturer’s schedule. In fact, testing the fluids can save you a lot of money, allowing you to determine the best time to change them without negatively impacting your car’s performance.
