As we head into the winter months, our health and safety become even more of a priority. With CDC recommendations on social distancing and quarantining likely having more of a focus this winter, we understand how stressful this can be for people. Quarantine boredom is very real, and we hope to help you by offering these car-related quarantine activities you can safely enjoy with your family.

Virtual Car Museum Tour

Virtual car museum tours have become available over the last several months, and you can take the tours in the comfort of your home. Or, if you choose to drive somewhere safely, you can park and take a museum tour from your phone. The Henry Ford Museum is a popular one to visit and take a virtual tour of. When you take a virtual walkthrough, you can see a lot of amazing classic cars to take your mind off of quarantining.

Drive To A New Walking Trail

Weather-pending, you can consider driving to one of the many great walking trails in Sussex County. Many of these trails are accessible even in the wintertime for you to enjoy and get out of the house. Several different activities are available on walking trails, and you can get some good exercise to help you clear your mind on a cool winter day.

Explore Volunteer Activities

Vehicle-related volunteer activities can help some people fulfill a sense of purpose they may be missing while quarantining. Meals on Wheels is a great organization to consider contacting to see if they have any volunteer opportunities available to deliver much-needed meals to elderly people who can’t leave their home or other underserved portions of the population. Everyone is suffering to some degree in this economy, and delivering a meal to someone in need is a great way to help them and you at the same time.

Participate In A Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts are fun to participate in this time of year. You can do some scavenger hunts from inside your home or hop in your vehicle and participate in some challenges. Feel free to also challenge other friends or family members to have a sense of virtual togetherness as you’re quarantining. It’s a fun and family-friendly activity that also provides a little competition at the same time.

Enjoy Looking At Christmas Lights

Fight boredom by enjoying car-related activities that are safe for quarantine. For December, take some time in the evenings and check out the many different Christmas light displays in your area. Whether it’s neighborhoods that go all-out with Christmas decorations or public places you can visit from your vehicle, looking at these displays is a great way to get your mind off of quarantine boredom. DeBoer’s Auto has created a Christmas light scavenger hunt you can participate in as well. The scavenger hunt link can be found on our Facebook page with all of the rules and guidelines.

We are here to help you get through quarantine boredom at DeBoer’s Auto.
