Getting a state vehicle inspection is something everyone has to do. The inspection itself often doesn’t take a long time, but when you consider the wait time you might experience to even get an appointment, it can become burdensome. DeBoer’s Auto wanted to eliminate that burden by ensuring we have enough licensed New Jersey inspectors so you won’t have to wait as long. We’ve discussed a little bit about how that benefits you and what our new licensed inspectors had to go through to become licensed.

Written And Practical Components

The process of becoming a New Jersey licensed inspector is very involved. Our team first took the written component of the class in the morning and it lasted half of the day. The second part of the day involved coming back to the shop for the practical portion. During this portion, our team had to do hands-on tasks to ensure they were able to pass the practical component of the testing process. They essentially did an entire vehicle inspection and received feedback accordingly.

Testing Process

Learn how to become a state inspector. After the written and practical components of the learning process were complete, our team had to go back into the classroom the next day for the testing process. They were given a written test to complete first and when they were done, they headed back to the shop for the practical portion. They were met by a New Jersey state auditor, who observed everything they did and facilitated the entire hands-on practical test.
