After you vehicle is five years old, Every two years in New Jersey you have your car inspected. So, what are your options? You can either go to the State Inspection Stations lanes, which in our case is in Newton. Or you have the option of visiting a local shop and there is usually a fee along with it. Local shops however can do exactly the same thing as the state lanes do! And, it’s probably more convenient if you don’t live close to the State Lanes and don't want to wait on long lines.  Also with the new changes coming in May of 2016, you will only be able to get your failed vehicle re-inspected at a private inspection facility.  Keep in mind however, that you are supporting a local shop which is probably supporting your local community.
