Hi Everyone!!! I hope you all have been enjoying a very awesome October!!! It's been so warm out and we've had a lot of nice sunny days so I've been getting out a lot and doing my usual really fun things. One of my most exciting adventures in October has been a super fun trip to Portland, Maine. My Mom and Dad visited Maine for the first time several years ago and they loved it so much right away. I've been there twice now and this second time, we timed our visit so that I was able to get out on the beaches much more. Many of the beaches in the Portland area are very dog friendly once the summer season is over (usually after Labor Day or by mid-September at the latest). My favorite beach was Higgins Beach because the beach was just huge and there were so many other dogs there that I made friends with. I was allowed on the beach at any time and was even allowed to run off leash (except from 1:00PM to 3:00 PM)!!!! SOOOO exciting for me!!!!! My Mom and Dad got me this awesome new toy (at this great shop in Portland called the Fish & Bone) that floated in the surf and even though it was a tad chilly, I just chased that toy into the surf over and over again.

I had so much fun on the Maine beaches that I literally walked on air.  Mom noticed from the MANY pictures she took of me that all four of my feet were often not touching the ground. She’s quite the nuisance with that camera of hers. If Dad and I could have a dog biscuit (or better yet, an ice cream cone!!!!) for every time we’ve heard “let me take your picture”, I’d be one super plump pup. Portland is a super dog friendly place to visit overall. I got to eat lunch with my Mom and Dad a couple of times as there are several really great restaurants that allow dogs in their outdoor seating areas and there's a lot of great dog friendly lodging options too.

Other than my trip to Maine I have been enjoying my weekly trips to Windy Brow Farms for apples and ice cream (I still have not managed to convince my Mom to just hand over her whole ice cream cup...but give me time, I still have some room to amp up enough charm and win her over). The apples have just been stellar this year; my Mom and Dad have been living by the adage of "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". They certainly know the apples make for happy snacking at the very least. The apples have been so super crisp that they've been great for just eating as they are, but Mom sometimes cooks up big batches of applesauce using this recipe and her slow cooker. It's really easy and given that it's sweetened with maple syrup rather than sugar, it's a nice healthy option.

Well that's all I have to report on my wonderful adventures in October. I wish you all a great month of November and I can't wait to catch up with you later in the month!!! If I don't have a chance to get to my desk for reporting beforehand, I wish you all the most wonderful of Thanksgiving holidays with your family and friends!!!! May it be a time filled with much love, happiness and fun!!!! Also, please don't forget that you can follow my daily adventures at the following:
