The catalytic converter takes a few minutes to remove, and thieves won’t want to be seen while they are doing it. Theft devices are also available to put underneath your vehicle to make it very difficult for them to access and steal the catalytic converter.
How Will You Know If Your Catalytic Converter Has Been Stolen?
A lot of people ask how they will know if their catalytic converter has been stolen since it won’t be visible without crawling under the vehicle. The answer is you will know immediately when you turn your vehicle on because it will make a tremendously loud noise. The exhaust will be running straight out of the engine 
and create a very loud noise as a result to the point where the only thing you can do is turn it off.
