As we are preparing for the celebration of our counties independence with July fourth approaching, we also celebrate the entrepreneurial freedom and spirit of our independent businesses. Independent Week is July 1st thru July 7th.
Shopping local means that you are supporting your local businesses and your community. Your local independent businesses employ your neighbors and friends, and help our communities grow.
We are grateful for the opportunities that we have.
Living in this great country, we salute and support other independent businesses in our community and encourage you to do the same.
The last few months have been extremely hard on all of us. Small independent businesses especially. The mom and pop businesses are no strangers to working hard to stay in business and thrive against the competition of the box stores. This has put an even weight on their shoulders.
The shutting down of businesses that were deemed unessential has had quite an impact on our neighboring business and their employees. Lets all put our efforts together and stand behind them and encourage them.
The fact that we are considered an essential business and our doors have remained open has not gotten lost on us. We have been able to service our customers and keep our normal operating hours. Our concierge service has been steadily busy, accommodating our customers who are chained to their computers and working from home. It has been our honor to provide such an important service to our community. Knowing that we can help the essential worker, health care professional and those of you making sure we can get food for our families means so much to us. The farmers, check out cashiers, the chefs, delivery drivers and so many more are able to get to their jobs in safe vehicles. That makes us so proud!
Independents Week is an annual opportunity to recognize the many valuable contributions these local businesses make to our communities. The temporary closing of many small businesses and unfortunately, the closing of their doors permanently, has hit the independent community hard. You can help by shopping local first.
