This commitment to training was exemplified on November 13, 2024, when three of our talented technicians—Zach Stephens, Chris Colie, and Steve Elliot—participated in an intensive 8-hour HEV/EV training class facilitated by Craig Van Batenburg of AC/DC. This training was made possible with the support of an Incumbent Worker Grant from the Workforce Development of Northwest New Jersey, reinforcing their mission to invest in our people and our community. The training was designed to prepare technicians for the growing demand for hybrid and electric vehicle (HEV/EV) services. The course covered a range of critical topics, including:
- Safety Protocols: Ensuring best practices when handling high-voltage systems. ● Dispelling Misconceptions: Addressing common misunderstandings about HEV and PHEV technology.
- EV & HEV Systems: In-depth understanding of hybrid and electric systems, including regenerative braking, 3-phase motor testing, and high-voltage batteries.
- Maintenance & Repair: Strategies for offering preventative maintenance. ● Charging Systems: Hands-on demonstrations on how plug-in vehicles are charged using advanced tools and diagnostics.
- Specialized Tools: Exploring the necessary equipment to stay competitive in the evolving automotive market.
