The Mayor and Council have proposed the Hometown Heroes Recognition Program, and we’ve found a way for you to help bring this tribute to life using your loyalty rewards.
What is the Hometown Heroes Program?
The goal is simple but powerful: to honor Veterans of the Armed Forces who have roots in our Borough. The committee plans to display custom banners throughout Hamburg, ensuring that every neighbor and visitor proudly recognize the faces and names of those who served.
Who qualifies as a Hometown Hero?
They must currently live in or have lived in the Borough of Hamburg.
They must meet the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs criteria (active military, naval, air, or space service with a discharge under conditions other than dishonorable).
How Your Loyalty Rewards Make a Difference
Starting today, we are opening a special donation window. Instead of letting your loyalty rewards dollars sit idle, you can "gift" them directly to the Hometown Heroes Committee to help fund the design and installation of these banners.
It’s a way to give back to those who gave everything, without it costing you an extra dime out of pocket.

Donation Period: Now through March 31, 2026.
How to Donate: Simply log into our Rewards Website and select the "Hometown Heroes" campaign from the donation menu.
Do You Know a Hero?
While donations help fund the project, we also need your nominations! If you or someone you know served, the Hometown Heroes Committee wants to hear from you.
The banners are currently in the design phase, and your input is vital to making sure every eligible veteran is recognized. You can pick up a nomination form at the Borough office or submit one directly to the committee.
