DeBoer's Is Going Green

By Bill DeBoer on Jun 26, 2018 11:04:00 AM

Learn why DeBoer's is going green.

At DeBoer’s Auto, we truly believe in conservation and being as environmentally friendly as possible. We’ve always been conscious in our efforts to do our part, and now we have taken these efforts a step further. Invoicing, reports, notes, tickets and other parts of our business require a significant amount of paper. We’ve now gone completely paperless with our own internal processes, as well as how we provide information to our customers.

With the new management system we’ve implemented, all information is stored in the cloud so it’s easily accessible for our employees and customers. These efforts of going green will not only benefit the environment, but also make our workflow more efficient and provide many more benefits to our customers.

As mentioned, our shop goes through a lot of paper from the time a customer schedules an appointment to the time the car leaves our shop. Our new management system allows our employees to work directly on tablets to update notes on a vehicle, see what’s been done on the vehicle and what services may be required. And since there is no paper being shuffled back and forth, the chances of something getting misplaced has been eliminated. Whether it’s our receptionist or the actual technician doing the work on the vehicle, the information is readily available in real-time to make processes more efficient overall.

How Our Change Benefits Customers

Of course, with any improvements we make, we want to ensure the changes will benefit our customers as well. We will take pictures of your vehicle as we inspect it, point out any areas of concern and show you clearly what work was done to the vehicle when it was in the shop. You will have the opportunity to view these pictures at a unique website provided to you. These are stored in the cloud, so you can always refer back to them if you need a refresher of when a particular service was completed or if you just want to keep a record of your vehicle’s maintenance history.

Knowing exactly when certain repairs were done to your car can benefit customers in more ways than one. When you get ready to sell your car, you can use this documentation as selling points to show your diligence in ensuring the car always operated at maximum efficiency. Sorting through papers and documents to find this information can become a hassle, and many customers will discard them after a while. With our efforts to go green and paperless, we hope to have solved both of these issues for customers.

DeBoer’s Auto always keeps the customer in mind any time a change is made to our policies or procedures. We are completely confident that our customers will enjoy the benefits of our new paperless movement and we are excited to be able to provide this level of service to you. To learn more about our efforts to be more environmentally friendly, don’t hesitate to contact us at any time.
