March is the month to celebrate women’s history, and we thought there’s no better way to celebrate it than talking about the great women that work at DeBoer’s Auto. It can be challenging working in an industry primarily dominated by males, but we have hired strong women who have persevered and constantly overcome obstacles to become assets to our company. We would like to introduce you to Colleen, Tina, and Heidi from DeBoer’s Auto as we celebrate Women’s History Month.
Colleen
Colleen has been with DeBoer’s Auto for many years because of her passion for cars. She always thought cars were interesting with all of the moving parts and the way that they work.
She doesn’t see herself as working in a male-dominated industry, but rather, as working in an industry she has a strong passion for. Pursuing her passion has always been at the top of her list, and that’s exactly why she works in the auto industry. It hasn’t come without challenges though, as it can be difficult to earn credibility as a young woman working in the auto industry. Through perseverance and constantly sharpening her knowledge and skills, Colleen has become a great resource of knowledge for DeBoer’s Auto.
Tina
With a sales and marketing background, Tina wanted to find a work-life balance she could enjoy, and that’s exactly what the auto industry provides. She finds cars to be fascinating and enjoys coming to work every day because of the unique things that can happen on any given day. Not being bored and constantly learning new things is important to Tina, and she satisfies those desires working in the auto industry. An obstacle she has overcome in her career is receiving a lot of doubt being a female in a male-dominated industry. She has handled those obstacles tremendously and is an asset for DeBoer’s Auto and our customers.
Heidi
Heidi loves being creative, helping people, and working as a team to solve problems, and that’s exactly why she loves working in the auto industry and for DeBoer’s Auto specifically. She connected with DeBoer’s Auto through her passion for photography as she took the great photos you see on our website today. Through different conversations, she ended up working for DeBoer’s Auto and it has been a decision she has loved ever since. Heidi used to sell marketing, but now she finds interest in learning the other side of marketing to have a more well-rounded perspective.
The women of DeBoer’s Auto bring so much to the table that we don’t know what we would do without them. Colleen, Tina, and Heidi have proven to be valuable and knowledgeable assets to our company in unique ways and have earned the respect of other employees and our customers.
