Not All Alignments Are the Same — Here’s Why That Matters

By Tina Ormond on Sep 18, 2025 10:51:12 AM

When it comes to taking care of your vehicle, not everything is as simple as it seems—especially alignments. You’ve probably seen a range of prices and promises from different shops, and maybe you’ve even experienced a car that still doesn’t feel quite right after an alignment. That’s because not all alignments are the same.

At DeBoer’s Auto, we believe in doing things the right way the first time. And a big part of that is educating our customers about what goes into a truly proper alignment.

By Tina Ormond on Aug 28, 2025 8:11:49 PM

There’s a moment every parent sees coming—but it still hits hard when it arrives.

For Lisa, it happened the day her oldest, Evan, passed his driving test. There he stood, proudly holding his brand-new license, already dreaming of late-night snack runs and spontaneous weekend drives.

Lisa? She was dreaming of something else entirely—airbags, accident stats, and insurance premiums.

When Tools Save the Day: Behind the Scenes at DeBoer’s Auto

By Tina Ormond on Aug 26, 2025 11:45:00 AM

It was just after 8 a.m. when the first vehicle of the day rolled into the bay—a late-model SUV with a mysterious check engine light. No odd noises. No visible leaks. No clear performance issues the driver could describe. But our technicians know better than to guess. Modern vehicles can hide big problems under small symptoms, and in our world, guessing isn’t part of the plan.

That’s when the first hero stepped in—not a person, but a tool. One of our high-end scan systems connected directly to the vehicle’s onboard computer. In seconds, the screen lit up with data—codes, live readings, and clues only a trained eye could interpret. Turned out, the SUV’s oxygen sensor was sending erratic signals, affecting fuel efficiency. Without that scan tool, it could have taken hours to track down. With it? Minutes—and the customer was back on the road without delay.

A Lab Scope to the Rescue
Later that morning, a work truck came in. The owner’s complaint: “It just dies sometimes. Then it’s fine again.” Intermittent issues like this are puzzles we love to solve. The lab scope captured real-time electrical waveforms, allowing the tech to compare the truck’s sensor signal to a healthy one. The culprit? A crankshaft position sensor that quit working when it got hot. With the problem pinpointed, the fix was made before the truck stranded its owner again.

The Scene Is All Too Familiar…

You’ve finally got the kids dressed.
Lunches packed.
Backpacks zipped.
You slide into the car with coffee in one hand and a mental to-do list in the other.

You pull into the school drop-off line, breathe a sigh of relief—and then you hear it:

Squeak.
Clunk.
Steam? Please don’t be steam…

Does Your Car Pull Left or Right? It Could Be Alignment

By Tina Ormond on Aug 19, 2025 11:45:00 AM

Have you ever noticed your car drifting slightly to one side while you’re driving? Or maybe your steering wheel isn’t sitting quite straight, even on a flat, straight road?

These might seem like small quirks, but they could be your car’s way of telling you something important: your wheel alignment may be off—and that can lead to bigger problems if ignored.
