Here at DeBoer's Auto, we know that for many of you, your vehicle is more than just transportation; it’s a passion, a project, and a gateway to adventure. As we transition into spring, the automotive industry on the East Coast is getting ready for a truly exciting April. We wanted to share details about two fantastic events nearby—one focusing on the future and the other celebrating history—to ensure you can enjoy this time of year to the fullest. Whether you are a dedicated gearhead or just looking for a fun, family-friendly road trip, these are the two shows you absolutely need to check out.
First up is the spectacular New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), taking place at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. Scheduled from April 3rd to April 12th, this event stands out as the number one Premier North American Auto Show. This is your chance to step directly into the future of driving. When you walk the convention floor, you’ll be among the first to witness exciting new prototypes, getting a glimpse of the technology and design that will define tomorrow’s roads. Manufacturers use this world-class venue to unveil new 2027 models, from cutting-edge electric vehicles to redesigned classics. The sheer size and scope of this show are unparalleled, offering an informative and mesmerizing experience for anyone interested in what's next for the automotive world.
The location makes it incredibly convenient for our community. Being just a short trip—a "hop, skip, and a jump away"—from the New York metropolitan area, including New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, it’s an easy destination for a quick getaway. Beyond the shiny new cars, the NYIAS is packed with family-friendly activities, making it the perfect spring outing. You can easily fill a whole day with exploration, or even two days if you decide you need to go back for more. It’s an immersion into the global automotive marketplace right in our backyard. If your passion leans more toward the classics, the customized, and the difficult-to-find, then you simply cannot miss the Spring of Carlisle show in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. This event is a paradise for vehicle enthusiasts, offering a completely different but equally thrilling experience. It's renowned as the biggest Automotive flea market in the nation, a treasure hunt of epic proportions for collectors and restorers.
Located about three hours from our service area here in Hamburg, New Jersey, the trip to Carlisle, PA, is the ideal spring road trip, culminating in five days of automotive exploration from April 22nd to April 26th. What makes this show so special is its focus on components, memorabilia, and project vehicles. Are you struggling to complete a restoration? The Spring of Carlisle is one of those star shows where you can dig through endless stalls to find those difficult and rare parts you need for your current project vehicle. If you've been looking for unique memorabilia—perhaps a vintage Vincent's sign to hang in your garage—or if you’re just starting out and need a project car, you might be able to purchase one right there on the spot.
This isn't just about car parts, though. It’s a chance to connect with fellow enthusiasts, share knowledge, and feel the camaraderie that comes from a shared love of vintage and custom vehicles. It’s a place where history meets hobby, providing everything you need to keep your personal automotive dreams moving forward. Make sure to mark your calendars for this essential spring automotive pilgrimage. You can find more details on their schedule here: Carlisle Events Schedule.

Did You Know?
The automotive passion at DeBoer's Auto started with a need for speed. Founder Bill Sr., the "OG DeBoer," had a successful stint in the drag racing circuit. He was known for making engines run faster in the 1960s and even competed and beat professional racers on official drag strips. This drag racing experience ultimately turned into his career, leading to the founding of DeBoer's Auto in 1981.
