If you’ve driven through Hamburg anytime over the last decade with your eyes open, you’ve seen the transformation. Since 2016, DeBoer’s Auto has evolved from a two-bay local shop into a multi-location business, including the expansion of our Fleet Truck Center. It’s been a whirlwind of growth, and running alongside the growth with excitement is our own: Josh Kays.
Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate Josh’s 10th anniversary with the DeBoer’s family. Often called "The Rock" by the team, Josh hasn't just witnessed our growth—he’s been instrumental in building it.
More Than Just a Skilled Technician
Josh joined us as the industry was shifting toward complex electronics and heavy-duty fleet needs. He didn’t just keep up; he shaped it's course. As an ASE-Certified and TechFix Certified Technician, Josh has mastered the "brain surgery" of the automotive world, including Phinia Delphi Advanced Electrical Diagnostics.
But if you ask Bill DeBoer, Josh’s value goes far beyond his toolbox. "Josh has been there all along the way, mentoring our young techs and bringing them up in the business," Bill notes. "He’s a key member of our leadership team, helping us set the direction for where DeBoer’s is headed next."
The Heart of the Shop
What truly makes Josh "The Rock" isn't just his technical skill—it’s his character. He has a rare ability to make everyone in the shop feel comfortable, building confidence in junior technicians and treating every customer like family.
When he’s not under a hood or leading a strategy meeting, Josh is the definition of a family man. Whether he’s coaching his daughters' sports teams or volunteering his time to help others, he brings the same positive attitude to the community that he brings to our bays.
