When you purchase a pre-owned car, you have concerns about getting a reliable vehicle that won't be a source of constant problems. While it's not possible to get an air-tight guarantee against having problems in any car you buy, extended warranties and Certified Pre Owned vehicles, like the Honda Certified Warranty available with Certified Pre-owned Honda vehicles,  is a good option that might reduce your risks. Here's how to decide which option is the right one for you.

Honda Pre-Purchase InspectionsYou Don't Have to go Back to the Dealership
The condition of a pre-owned car could be anyone's guess. Unless you know what you are looking at underneath the hood, you would probably have little way of being able to tell which parts were facing imminent repairs and which systems had not been properly maintained. There's where a Certified Pre Owned vehicle could give you a lot of peace of mind. Honda Certified Pre Owned cars have to go through a rigorous series of inspections, and after those inspections, everything has to be reconditioned and replaced as necessary so that the car looks as close as possible to brand new condition.

By comparison, a car that only has an extended warranty does not have to go through any of these inspections, and usually doesn't. Since there's no in depth inspection of the car itself, potential weak links aren't identified or fixed. The Honda Certified warranty on a Certified Honda, can be matched by DeBoer's Auto. DeBoer's Auto can give you the reassurance you want with a rigorous inspection and recondition process that is unmatched by and Honda Certified Program process.

Honda Warranty Coverage Limits
Extended warranties seem like a great solution when you're buying a pre owned car.  Car repairs can be extremely expensive, and that's the last thing most people want to have to worry about after buying a car. But is an extended warranty the kind of guarantee that you hope it will be? Not necessarily, for several reasons.

Extended warranties are often provided by an independent third party, rather than by the car's manufacturer or the dealership selling it. This means that the quality of the warranty can vary widely; not all warranties are created equal. Some extended warranties require you to pay a deductible before coverage kicks in. You may even be required to pay for repairs completely up front and wait for reimbursement from the warranty provider. Not all repair work is covered, so you need to read the fine print. Some warranties may only cover damage to major mechanical components, for example, and leave your electronic systems completely uncovered.

An extended warranty also does not make any guarantees about the state of the car when you buy it. Extended warranties do not require that the car meet any minimum standards in terms of age or mileage, and do not perform any needed repairs or reconditioning. What you see is truly what you get, and that offers relatively little reassurance. You may think only way to get the peace of mind you seek is to choose a Honda Pre Certified Warranty on a Certified Pre-owned Honda.

The truth is that buying a Certified Pre-Owned Honda does not guarantee the car or value you seek.  You must be diligent in asking the right questions before you buy a Certified Pre-Owned Honda.  Minimize your risks and start your car buying process with the information you need to make a smart decision.
